The 3-way solenoid valve mounted on the brewing units of professional coffee machines has a dual function:
- First, it allows hot water to reach the brewing group shower, which moistens the ground coffee and ensures the coffee is extracted in the cup.
- After brewing, it releases residual pressure within the group by sucking water from the top of the coffee pod, leaving the used coffee as dry as possible. This second function is the main cause of defects in these solenoid valves, which, along with water, suck in coffee particles that, over time, along with limescale, compromise their proper functioning. This solenoid valve is composed of a coil (code 8F09802), a mechanical part (code 9V785), and an internal moving core (code 6V4573).
